I'm going to try to post every detail I can here...

I read this book before 2010.  I think it was published after 2001.

Parts of the plot I remember:
The opening of the book was during a trial.  A pregnant detective was on the stand.  The defendant did something (tried to escape, drew a gun?) that caused the pregnant detective to tackle him.  He got upset, claiming she 'peed on him'.  Actually, her water had broken.

The detective gives birth, I think it was a boy.  She does not bond well with the infant.  Her husband/boyfriend MIGHT have been FBI.

At the end of the book, she gets captured/lured by the killer, who then forces her to carry her infant into the woods, where he plans on murdering and burying them both.  She has a gun in the diaper bag she's carrying.

That's all I remember about it.  I've checked some of the major female detective series, and did not see a book that fit - I know it's not a DD Warren novel, pretty sure it's not Rizzoli & Isles or Tess Monaghan either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Day Three [Apr. 12th, 2009|05:57 am]
Woke up around 4 AM.  Stayed in bed till 5:45 AM, unsure if I fell asleep again.  Woke up very hungry, needing to use the restroom and with an uncomfortable stomach.  Opened a bottle of water, ate some crackers.  I didn't take lunesta last night as it seems to have no effect.

Day Two [Apr. 11th, 2009|05:58 am]

I woke up at 4 AM.  I tried to fall back asleep, but failed, and got up.  I finished my journal entry from yesterday.  I ate a peppermint patty to get the medicinal taste out of my mouth.  I also opened a new bottle of water.

Ate 2 slices of pizza for lunch, half a sleeve of crackers for dinner.  Drank 2-3 bottles of water.  Went to bed around midnight.

Day One [Apr. 10th, 2009|09:04 am]

Woke up around 5 am, went to the other room and read for a bit.  Laid back down around 7, but did not fall asleep.  Sir and I got up at 8.  He got ready for work, I got dressed and we went outside for a walk.  Only walked for about 15 minutes before friction became uncomfortable and I headed back inside.  I'm glad its cool out.

Came back inside, ate a peppermint patty to get the Lunesta taste out of my mouth.  Opened a bottle of water.  Need to up my intake to 4 a day.  I've only been drinking one or two.

The elimination of regular soda from my diet has already caused an improvement, as I've lost a few pounds.  Of course this might be off-set by the box of candy Sir's mom just sent = /  I have no self control.  That's something I should work on.

Mood wise, I've found the zoloft makes me much less irritable.  I tend not to snap over small things as much, like Sir coming home late from work, or driving down roads I don't recognize.  It hasn't done much to cheer me up though, or make me less...paranoid/anxious.  Yesterday my dose was doubled, so hopefully that will help.

Lately I've been feeling like the only reason I'm here is to keep my family from being sad if I was gone.

At 3 PM I got pretty sick.  Lightheadedness, dizziness and nausea.  I laid down, which lead to me falling asleep sometime after 3.  I briefly woke sometime around 6, but was still fairly sick and fell back asleep.  I got up at 8.  We ate dinner, watched some TV.  I took my medication (100mg Zoloft, 3mg Lunesta) at 11:30, and went to bed at 12.  We were intimate.  I fell asleep sometime after 2am. 

I drank two bottles of water, ate cheese and crackers for lunch, and 2.5 busicuits from KFC for dinner.  I had some various other candy sent by Sir's mother.

Requirements [Apr. 9th, 2009|08:55 am]

The doctor gave me a new list of requirements yesterday.  I'm going to try to keep track of them, and note my progress here.

-Get up at the same time each morning.  if I wake up early, do not go back to sleep.  Go outside for a thirty minute walk as soon as I get up AND it's light outside.
-Start a bedtime ritual.  Take medication, brush teeth, possibly take a shower if its relaxing, read for a bit.  After 30 minutes, go into a dark, quiet, cool room and fall asleep.  If partner snores, sleep in a separate room.  (I know I won't follow that last little bit.  Probably should have talked about it more, but I was too tired).
-Get the book Say Goodnight to Insomnia, and read it.
-Eliminate as much caffeine as possible from my diet.
-Start exercising as soon as possible.
-Eat better.
